The right turn lane on eastbound RM 620 from Cornerwood to Deep Wood drives closes today for approximately four to six weeks, as part of the RM 620 widening project from Wyoming Springs to Deep Wood.

The lane will be closed for work as weather permits, providing a safe space between traffic and workers to construct the roadway widening of the existing pavement.

Williamson County officials said the contractor, Cox Commercial, intends for the right turn lane to be reopened to traffic prior to the beginning of the school year.

The county is widening the road from four to six lanes and adding new curb and gutter and a raised median. The segment will include left- and right-hand turn lanes, culverts, water-quality facilities, retaining walls and construction of sidewalk along the north side of RM 620 to fill in current gaps.
