The second of two public meetings will be held tonight for input on rezoning for the Kalahari Resorts & Conventions.

The meeting will be tonight, from 6-8 p.m., at Ridgeview Middle School, 2000 Via Sonoma Trail, Round Rock. City and Kalahari officials will to answer questions and listen to comments from residents.

Kalahari plans to invest at least $350 million in building a 975-room hotel with an indoor-outdoor water park, multiple restaurants and a day spa. The property will have a 200,000-square-foot convention center. The 351-acre tract is on the south side of Hwy. 79 east of Kenney Fort Boulevard, across from Old Settlers Park and Dell Diamond.

Officials for the city of Round Rock said other public hearings will take place before the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council before the final vote.

Tonight’s meeting is informal with a come-and-go format. A similar meeting held May 9 attracted 50 attendees.
