Baylor Scott & White Health CEO James Hinton, who joined Texas’ largest nonprofit healthcare system a month ago, said he wanted to be a part of a system with a vision to change health care. Baylor Scott & White has had clinics in Pflugerville for more than 10 years. The new medical center will be 97,474 square feet and sit on 26 acres at 2600 E. Pflugerville Pkwy., at SH 130. The facility will employ more than 125 at opening. Officials said the integrated multi-specialty medical clinic is designed to offer a model of care delivery with the goal of improving the patient experience and prevent unnecessary medical tests while reducing the time patients spend at the hospital. “We’re not just in the business of building hospitals,” Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rob Watson said. “We are in the business of changing health care and changing lives.” Pflugerville Mayor Victor Gonzales said the rapid growth of the city warrants a hospital system. “[Baylor Scott & White] is setting the bar high for future corporate partners along [SH] 130,” Gonzales said. “Their image will make us stand out in this community.”
