Newly elected Mayor Victor Gonzales will be joined on City oCuncil by Place 1 Council Member Doug Weiss. Both will take the oath of office Nov. 29.
In the City Council race, Weiss had 8,277 votes in Travis County and 24 in Williamson County for a total of 8,301, or 71.89 percent. Challenger Victor To had 3,228 votes in Travis and 17 in Williamson for a total of 3,245, or 28.10 percent.

Doug Weiss and Victor To are running for Pflugerville City Council, Place 1.
To, a student at University of Texas, said he would work hard to improve the community through education, more jobs and keeping the crime rate low.
Weiss, vice president of the Pflugerville Community Development Corp. board, said roads are a concern, along with continued retail development.
To said he would focus on lakes and parks and keeping Pflugerville a family-friendly community. Weiss said he is committed to downtown improvement and “taking the city forward by working together.
“I shop Pflugerville first,” Weiss said. “I know the value of it. I have experience that can help. I will lead by example.”
To said he’d be cautious when voting on bringing businesses to town.
“We want businesses here that will give as much as they take from here,” To said. “I want us to create a vibrant economy and bring taxes down.”
