Pflugerville is now home to the second location of Spare Time Texas, an indoor entertainment venue that includes an arcade, a laser tag arena, a bowling alley, a bowling lounge, a bar and dining area, and private event spaces.

Spare Time opened Dec. 7 on FM 685 and features a larger dining area and a larger game room than the company’s first location in Temple, according to Spare Time staff.

Rick Heim, one of the four partners behind Spare Time, said the company chose Pflugerville because of the large number of young families in the area and the relative shortage of indoor entertainment venues.

“When we looked at Pflugerville, it was underserved from an indoor entertainment perspective,” Heim said. “At the time there was no bowling in Pflugerville.”

Spare Time in Pflugerville starts bowling rates at $17.99 for one hour’s play on one lane. Spare Time also includes a full bar with local beers and craft cocktails, a bowling lounge that has a 21 and older age limit after 9 p.m., a restaurant-sized kitchen that provides catering for private events and a private dining area that seats 120 people.
