For the second straight year, Round Rock was voted the No. 1 minor league baseball town in the country.
The city, which is home to the Round Rock Express, the Class Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, was voted the best minor league baseball town of 2016 by SmartAsset, a financial technology company.
In 2016, the
Express finished 71-72 overall, taking second place in The Pacific Coast League American South division, and had an average home attendance of 8,637, which was a 1.5 percent increase from 2015.
According to the
study done by SmartAsset another reason Round Rock is ideal for minor league baseball is because its average resident "has more discretionary income than most of the people living in the other cities and towns" in the SmartAsset analysis.
