The brush fire prompting an evacuation for homes on two streets in Pflugerville are under control, Nick Perkins, Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2 fire chief, said.

After an evacuation order was issued Aug. 9 to homes on Scoria Drive and Elk Horn Drive in Pflugerville due to a nearby fire, Perkins said it is safe to return home. According to the fire chief, the 15-acre brush fire off of Jesse Bohls Road will require significant clean up that could several hours for fire responders to finish. The Manor Fire Department, STAR Flight and the Texas Forest Service were also called in to assist in containing the fire.
