The history
Dearing contributed more than 40 years of service to the Pflugerville Public Library and community, including contributions foundational to the library today. She co-founded the Friends of the Library in 1981, a group that seeks to fund library programs and promote literacy and learning.
"It was a huge part of my mother's life, and I know she would be way past delighted to know this is happening," Denise Dearing said at the meeting.
Her other contributions include leading the creation of the city's first volunteer library and coordinating the land donation for the current facility.

The Friends of the Library will fund any costs associated with naming the wing, including signage.
