The city of Pflugerville’s presiding judge for the municipal court will now be compensated at $45,000 a year, City Council decided at a meeting Aug. 27.

How it happened

After discussion in executive session, all City Council members approved the salary adjustment for Farren Sheehan, the presiding municipal court judge. Her duties include hearing misdemeanor criminal cases and city ordinance violations.

When she was appointed in 2018, her salary was $38,701, according to city documents.

The context



Born in Pflugerville, Sheehan worked as a public defender in Dallas County before returning to open her private practice. For the last 15 years, she has represented clients in estate planning, real estate, civil litigation and probate law.

City Council also unanimously approved the appointment of a new associate judge, Kristina Rojas-Stompel. She has previously held positions as an assistant county attorney for Williamson County and a prosecutor for the city of Cedar Park.
