Hutto City Council is poised to take action on several agreements related to intersection improvements along FM 1660.

At a Jan. 5 meeting, council will consider a $637,042 construction contract for the improvements at North FM 1660 and Hwy. 79.

Improvements at the intersection will include a new right turn lane on FM 1660 as well as traffic signal upgrades, utility relocations, pedestrian improvements and minor drainage improvements.

The most recent update from the city has the project expected to wrap up in fall 2023.

At the same meeting, council will consider an advance funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for improvements at South FM 1660 and Hwy. 79. Under the agreement, the city would pledge to contribute a total of $2.83 million to the project.


Improvements at South FM 1660 and Hwy. 79 will include right and left turns, sidewalks and a new traffic signal. The improvements are expected to be complete in 2025.
