From an electric car demonstration to a dessert-based art show to an Easter egg hunt, here are three family-friendly event options for the weekend of April 1.

April 1: See an electric vehicle demonstration

A team from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church will host a community event that will feature and demonstrate several models of electric vehicles. Attendees can take test rides and learn about the different kinds of technology.

April 1-2: Attend a sugar art show

A show called “That Takes the Cake” is coming to Round Rock. The multifaceted event features entrants from all over the world who will compete for the best cake or sugar art sculpture. Instructors will also teach classes for students interested in learning new techniques.

The city of Hutto will host a traditional Easter egg hunt for children age 3 and older. The event features 15,000 eggs filled with candy and other treats. Children will also have an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.
