What you need to know
City Council members serve as the city's lawmakers, with their main responsibility being policymaking. In Round Rock, council members and the mayor are elected at-large, allowing all registered voters in the city to vote for every position. The mayor and six council members are elected to serve three-year terms.
Voter deadline registration is April 3. Early voting will be held April 22-29, and election day is May 3.

What will be your top priorities if you are elected?
Collaboration is KEY: Leadership that gets things done, professionally, collaboratively, with collegiality and respect. Infrastructure Investment: Optimize traffic flow, plan out and deliver on road expansions and rerouting traffic. Prepare for water and wastewater needs. Address facilities needs. Community Well-Being: Build nature trails, expand trail connectivity and install playgrounds.
What uniquely qualifies you for this position?
I am deeply involved in Hutto through boards and commissions and other volunteer work. I’ve decades of experience as a teacher and ensemble director, motivating, bringing out the best in others, building consensus and collaborating to achieve common goals. I’ve a vision for Hutto trails to enhance quality of life.
What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city, and how will you improve it?
We have a leadership crisis. Our city council is periodically dysfunctional, hindering operations. I'll bring a mature, solutions oriented approach to problem solving. Collaboration is key, where relationships with all stakeholders are valued and respected. I'll mend fences with city staff, Williamson County, Hutto ISD and community non-profit organizations.
What is something you want Hutto residents to know about you?
I care deeply about Hutto and hope to see Hutto thrive. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to serve Hutto. I aim to motivate and inspire many others to get involved and join community-wide efforts to improve our city and the well-being of all Hippos.

Public Safety—low crime rate, now & future.

Passionate Hutto civic volunteer for 13yrs; member of multiple Boards, Commissions. Keep Hutto Beautiful Board Member, 50yrs living 25mi of Hutto, Hutto resident 17yrs. Beautiful wife Mia, a Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse, who also shares my passion helping our community. Never forget the Little, the Least, the Last, and the Lost.
What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city, and how will you improve it?
Help Hutto stay nimble in a dynamic landscape; Economy, Projects, Debt, Growth. Managing to benefit ALL residents is the challenge. Focus on the Hutto silent majority; they may not feel empowered, they may not understand avenues of communication, they may not feel that their concerns heard or gain Council attention.

Strive to serve our community with excellence and integrity. Mission to enhance the quality of life for ALL residents of Hutto through dedicated service and innovative solutions. Provide a technical background and good intellect to investigate and vet complicated Hutto issues with excellent documentation skills and both formal/informal communications.

I will prioritize these issues, ensuring development pays their fair share and that residents are not burdened with unnecessary tax increases. Responsible growth and infrastructure improvements will benefit everyone in our community.
