Hutto ISD sets maximum price for first part of high school No. 2 conversion
Hutto ISD officials approved the highest price that the district will pay for an initial phase of the conversion that will turn the district's Ninth Grade Center into its second high school in April.

Trustees approved a guaranteed maximum price of $59.35 million April 11 for the first phase of construction. Dustin Barton, HISD's assistant superintendent of operations, said the project is being broken up into multiple phases to allow the district to get ahead on construction amid long lead times.

Hutto ISD will expand enrollment capacity for its virtual school option in the 2025-26 school year, Superintendent Jeni Neatherlin shared in March.

Neatherlin shared at a March Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon that the district plans to expand enrollment capacity for the upcoming school year to at least 70 students.
41 students enrolled for the program in the 2024-25 school year, with six students graduating from the program at the end of the semester, according to the district.

Early projections show possible $13 million budget shortfall for Pflugerville ISD
Pflugerville ISD officials are reviewing the upcoming budget cycle and projecting a possible $13 million shortfall ahead of the new fiscal year that will now begin July 1.
Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Land provided the board of trustees a preliminary look at the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget during the April 3 board meeting.
Breaking it down
Based on the district's budget snapshot comparing the current FY 2024-25 budget to the FY 2025-26 budget, revenue is projected to grow to $294.3 million, up $4 million, but expenditures are estimated to increase to $307.8 million, up $10 million.
