About the program
The virtual academy provides a flexible and personalized education option for HISD students and families with needs and academic goals that are not met by the eight hour school day model. Students in the academy are able to work at their own pace and on their schedule, and also have the opportunity to take some courses in person in a hybrid model.
The academy is available to students in sixth through 12th grade.
Students and their families can submit a form declaring their intent to apply for the program, joining a waitlist of students who will enroll in the academy as space becomes available.
