Hutto ISD's incentive plan for the 2025-26 school year will include opportunities for employees to receive additional compensation in a variety of ways, from a special bonus for former students to an additional hiring bonus for bilingual educators

About the program

The district's plan to incentivize hiring by providing several opportunities for additional compensation to employees, Malone said.


Per the district's incentive plan, new employees eligible for the $500 Welcome Home bonus will:
  • Be graduates of Hutto High School
  • Be employed after March 1, 2025, and before Aug. 31, 2025
  • Not be employed by the district on or after Aug. 1, 2023
For an existing teacher to receive a $500 referral bonus, new hires must:
  • Fill a full-time in-classroom position
  • Not be a rehired Teacher Retirement System-eligible retiree
  • Be employed after March 1, 2025, and before Aug. 31, 2025
  • Not be employed by the district on or after Aug. 1, 2023
The district will also offer signing bonuses for employees in hard-to-fill positions:
  • $2,000 signing bonus for special education standard certified teachers, teachers certified in languages other than English or bilingual certified teachers who sign by May 1, 2025
  • $1,000 signing bonus for special education standard certified teachers, teachers certified in languages other than English or bilingual certified teachers who sign by June 1, 2025
