Hutto ISD will lift its restrictions on visitors, mentors and volunteers Oct. 25, returning to its pre-pandemic visitor policy, according to a district presentation.

Additionally, the district will cease contact tracing for grades seven-12 but continue for pre-K through sixth grade and all staff, per guidelines from the Texas Education Agency.

The presentation stated these changes are based on decreasing COVID-19 infection rates in the district.

As of Oct. 13, there were two active staff cases and 28 active student cases in the district. As of Oct. 11, the infection rate for Williamson County was 21 per 100,000, a downward trend from the district's last report on Sept. 19 of 46.2 per 100,000 within the county.

The district will continue to monitor infection rates, hospital bed availability and vaccination rates to inform further policy decisions.
