What’s new
The new road—now officially Krueger Boulevard—serves as the main connector through the site and is considered the key piece of infrastructure needed to open it for large-scale development.
The project is a joint investment between the city of Hutto and the Hutto Economic Development Corp.
Krueger Boulevard is designed to support future business and industrial projects across the Megasite, one of Hutto’s most significant economic development areas. The roadway is expected to help attract employers, create jobs and expand the city’s commercial tax base, Mayor Mike Snyder said.
How we got here
The land that now makes up the Megasite was farmed for generations by the Krueger family, whose decision to sell a portion of their property to the city allowed the roadway project to move forward.
“Today’s ribbon-cutting for Krueger Boulevard marks more than the opening of a critical piece of infrastructure. It reflects Hutto’s deep respect for the families who have shaped this community,” said Cheney Gamboa, Hutto’s director of economic development. “The Krueger family has cultivated this land for generations, and it’s an honor to celebrate their legacy in a way that will serve residents, businesses and future growth for decades to come.”
