The details
The total estimated budget for the pickleball courts is $1.6 million, which includes two to four courts, according to city documents. City Council passed a individual project order for survey and geotechnical professional services that contractor Clark Condon determined necessary after the initial design phase.
The topographic and boundary survey of the Riverwalk Soccer Field Park, as well as a geotechnical evaluation for the lights and post-tension court required for the proposed pickleball courts, cost $23,150, funded through the park improvement fund.
The contractor found the original location at Creekside Park unsuitable after site evaluations because of its proximity to residential homes and potential noise impacts. Riverwalk Soccer Field Park has 300 feet of buffer space from residences, as well as existing parking infrastructure.
