The city of Pflugerville will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Wilbarger Creek Park & Dog Park on March 15 to mark its opening.

About the project

The new dog park is part of the Wilbarger Creek Phase 2 project, a $4.5 million development of 15 acres of parkland in Pflugerville. Other project features include the hike and bike trail, which will connect to other parks along Wilbarger Creek.

Wilbarger Creek Park & Dog Park sports features such as:
  • Artificial and natural grass areas
  • Play mounds
  • Family-friendly sitting spaces
  • Shade structures
  • Restroom facilities
  • Separate enclosed ares for small and large dogs

The new dog park is a part of part of the city’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan, and is funded by voter-approved bonds.

Pflugerville invites residents and their dogs to attend the grand opening of the park from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will include a line up of city speakers, professional pup portraits, a pop-up adoption event hosted by Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services and free dog merch.

Event parking will be available along North Cascades Avenue. Dogs must be on leash outside the fence enclosures.
