The city of Pflugerville is moving forward with a project to build a new Public Works complex. City Council approved an ordinance to rezone almost 49 acres from agricultural and development zoning to a planned unit development district, which will be the site for the facility.

What is it

The Public Works Complex PUD is located near Weiss Lane and Pflugerville Parkway, bordering the municipal water treatment plant, which is currently undergoing an expansion. It will be comprised of six buildings, including a 56,000-square-foot main administrative building. Other buildings are designated for supply, storage, vehicle maintenance and fueling.

The site will have space for other city offices as well, including:

  • Assistant city manager’s office

  • Utility billing

  • Streets and drainage

  • Transportation engineering

  • Facilities maintenance

What else?

East Pflugerville Parkway will be the main access point for the complex. The city is working on an ongoing project to expand the road to a four-lane roadway with a raised median from Colorado Sand Drive to Cameron Lane.
