Traffic on McNeil Road from Round Rock through Northwest Austin will be closed for several days in July as Capital Metro works on a rail line near the roadway.
According to Williamson County documents, Capital Metro is going to replace some track on the railroad crossing where the Red Line intersects with McNeil.
A representative from Capital Metro told Community Impact Newspaper that construction on the rail track will last July 16-18.
The temporary closure will run from Howard Lane to SH 45 on the border of Austin and Round Rock.
Throughout the closure, a detour will be available for motorists who use McNeil as a through route. According to a map in Williamson County documents, the detour will take motorists along Howard and Burnet Road in Northwest Austin as well as CR 172 and East McNeil in Round Rock.
