As part of a comprehensive series of mobility improvements along the Burnet Road corridor in North Austin, the city of Austin has opened a survey to collect comments on future enhancements to one of the corridor’s busiest intersections.

The city of Austin Corridor Program Office on June 23 began collecting public input on potential beautification and mobility improvements at and around the intersection of Burnet and Braker Lane.

The intersection is located in between The Domain and the recently opened Q2 Stadium, home of Austin FC.

As part of the survey, the city is asking for public feedback about “placemaking and placekeeping opportunities” at the intersection. According to the corridor program office, placemaking projects add community improvements to roadways through landscape design and mobility enhancements.

Placemaking projects can include adding community gathering spaces; public art installations; pedestrian and bike paths; pocket parks; informational signage; and improved connections to community services, such as libraries, parks and schools, per the corridor program office website.

The city of Austin recently added sidewalk and ramp improvements near Q2 Stadium to increase safety and mobility for cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles, according to a June 11 newsletter from the corridor program office.

The survey that is now open to community input asks residents about how they use the intersection and what kind of improvements they prioritize along the corridor and at this intersection.

Residents can respond to the survey for the next two weeks through July 7. To access the survey, follow this link.
