Austin Parks Foundation opens registration Feb. 5 for the spring edition of It’s My Park Day, a twice-a-year volunteer day to clean up area parks and trails.

The foundation hosts volunteer days in the spring and fall. In November, more than 1,650 volunteers worked 5,000 hours at 85 projects throughout Austin.

This will be the 16th spring event for the foundation. Last spring, the event had 3,600 volunteers who worked more than 10,800 hours at local parks.

Volunteers can peruse a list of parks and projects here and register online at www.austinparks.org/volunteer/impd.

Available projects will be located at Barton Creek Greenbelt, Emma Long Metro Park, Shipe Park, Bouldin Creek and Mount Bonnell, among other locations.

Several Austin restaurants are also participating in It’s My Park Day by offering special discounts March 3 to customers who volunteer and wear their It’s My Park Day T-shirts when ordering food. Participating restaurants include Zocalo Cafe, Fresa’s on South First and all locations of Galaxy Cafe and Trudy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant and Bar.
