Fire has delayed the return Z'Tejas to Avery Ranch. The restaurant was slated to open April 18, but a fire broke out at the storage unit where the bulk of the business' furniture and equipment was kept, according to a release from the company.

This location—at 14900 Avery Ranch Blvd., Ste. B100, Austin—marks a return for Z'Tejas to the Avery Ranch area, as the restaurant group closed a dining room off West Parmer Lane in 2017.

Z'Tejas serves a variety of Southwestern and Mexican dishes such as fajitas, enchiladas and tacos.

The restaurant group operates one other Austin kitchen downtown on West Sixth Street after its location at The Arboretum closed in July.

Z'Tejas is looking to hire more than 50 positions, including front-of-house staff, managers, servers, bartenders and kitchen staff, for the new location. www.ztejas.com.
