A new house call app, FetchMD, is set to expand its service area to Austin beginning Jan. 29. The company, operated by San Antonio-based Ranger Health, allows individuals to set up house call appointments with physicians assistants and nurse practitioners, according to a news release on Dec. 26.

The service will initially be available in central and northwest Austin before expanding to south Austin and Williamson County.

The physicians assistants and nurse practitioners on call can diagnose and treat coughs, colds, viruses, urinary tract infections, minor injuries such as strains and sprains, rashes, skin infections and stomach ailments such as nausea and vomiting. They can also apply stitches and perform physicals, according to the release.

Visits are available Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and cost a flat fee of $119.

Requests can be made by downloading the app from Google Play and Apple’s App Store or by calling 844-852-2968.
