The Arboretum is hosting its inaugural A Taste of The Arboretum event from 5-7 p.m. May 20 at 10000 Research Blvd., Austin, in partnership with Edible Austin.

The event will feature deals from various food retailers and restaurants in The Arboretum along with alcohol samples from local retailers such as Bloody Revolution and BOXT Wine, according to a news release. There will also be nearly 20 vendors at the “edible market” who have been featured in Edible Austin, including SimpliThai, GR8 Debake and Sky Roasters Coffee.

Courtney Edwards, area marketing director of The Arboretum, said the idea behind the first-time event is to feature Arboretum retailers while offering local Austin vendors a chance to showcase their goods.

There will also be a canned food drive benefiting the Central Texas Food Bank, giveaways, games and live music by Darrell Goldman and Jack Greenwood in the courtyard, various art pieces throughout the area, and a chalkboard art contest.

While the event is free, Edwards said eventgoers are asked to register through Eventbrite before attending.
