Mexican Sugar has announced a location is set to open at The Domain in 2026.

The background

The restaurant is part of restaurant group FB Society alongside Haywire and Sixty Vines, which also reside in The Domain and Domain Northside.

With four locations across the state, the new addition will be the fifth Mexican Sugar restaurant in Texas.

As the new restaurant moves into the space, Museum of Ice Cream is looking to relocate after four years of occupancy at the shopping center.

On the menu

The restaurant’s menu features meals prepared with daily-made tortillas and specialty flavors such as the Lobster Fundito and Arepas.

In addition to entrees, diners can find over 100 curated tequilas, mezcals and sotols from across Mexico.

CEO of FB Society Jack Gibbons said the restaurant’s concept was designed to be a transportive experience.

“Austin’s dining scene is full of creativity, and we think our concept brings something different to the city,” Gibbons said. “From the energy of the bar to the details on the plate, everything is designed to immerse guests in the richness of Latin culture."
