Jack Allen's Kitchen, an Austin restaurant serving Southern comfort food with a Texas twist, is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its Anderson Lane location. Owned by chef Jack Gilmore and managing partner Tom Kamm, the restaurant serves fresh locally sourced foods from starters and greens to JAK originals, South Texas tacos and “in the bun” burgers. Celebrations run through the weekend and include $5 house bloody marys or mimosas during brunch.

“We're truly grateful that we are located in a great neighborhood. Before, during and after the pandemic, this neighborhood has supported and been there for us," said Gilmore, who lives in the community surrounding the Anderson location.

Popular items on the menu include fish tacos and margaritas with the least expensive items being happy hour half-off starters and $1 off all drinks from 3-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Weekend brunch features specialty brunch cocktails on Saturdays and Sundays until 2 p.m. at 3010 W. Anderson Lane, Ste. D., Austin. https://jackallenskitchen.com
