What we reported

ELM Restaurant Group announced plans in August to open a second location of 24 Diner in the Rock Rose district. The new restaurant would continue the 24-hour service of the original location at 600 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, but also focus on using farm-to-table ingredients and supporting other local businesses.

The latest

ELM originally expected to open the new location at 3100 Esperanza Crossing, Ste. 100, Austin in October 2017 but the date has been pushed back to 2018. The company said the Rock Rose district restaurant will be larger in size than the original 24 Diner and will utilize similar design elements. The two locations will share the same menu, according to ELM. 24 Diner’s menu offers “chef-inspired comfort food,” including classic breakfast dishes, frittatas and Belgian waffles as well as burgers and sandwiches. Entrees include meat loaf, steak and fries, and fried chicken and gravy. 3100 Esperanza Crossing, Ste. 100, Austin 512-472-5400 www.24diner.com This is one of six notable business announcements from 2016.
