All Travis County offices and facilities will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 31, and Wednesday, Feb. 1. Essential emergency staff will still be working.

The commissioners court voting session has been postponed from Jan. 31 to Thursday, Feb. 2, at 9 a.m. in accordance with Texas Government Code section 551.0411(b).

Because offices are closed, property owners can pay property taxes online at the Travis County Tax Office website or wait until the office is open again for business.

Golf courses, city parks and pools will remain closed Jan. 31. The Austin Municipal Court will be closed Jan. 31 through Thursday, Feb. 2. Austin Resource Recovery closed Jan. 31. Trash collection will be delayed.

City libraries will remain open during regular business hours and serve as warming shelters during those hours. Cold weather shelters will be open the night of Jan. 31 and the night of Feb. 1. Shelter registration takes place between 6-8 p.m. at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road.


The winter storm warning has been extended for Travis County from noon Wednesday, Feb. 1, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2. Road conditions are dangerous due to ice, and traveling should be avoided.
