As Central Texas recovers from Hurricane Harvey, residents of Northwest Austin can expect road closures and delays throughout the city. However, many community meetings remain scheduled this week as residents aim to resume life as normal.

Here are some of the highlights of news for Northwest Austin this week.
1. Pflugerville ISD returns to school Monday, but all school district have two-hour delays
While Austin and Round Rock ISDs returned to school last week, Pflugerville ISD resumes classes Monday. PfISD elementary school students will begin classes at 9:40 a.m., middle school classes will start at 10:05 a.m., and high school classes will start at 11 a.m.
RRISD elementary school students will start school at 9:40 a.m., middle school students at 10:20 a.m. and high school students will start school at 11:05 a.m. Pre-K in the morning will be from 9:40 a.m.-12:15 p.m., while pre-K in the afternoon will be from 12:15-2:55 p.m. For more information,

2. Check road closures before heading out this week
Road closures amid the heavy rainfall in Austin this weekend are largely concentrated in Northwest Austin along Spicewood Springs Road and off Parmer Lane and MoPac.

3. Meet with Mayor Steve Adler in District 7 canceled
Austin Mayor Steve Adler planned to join Council Member Leslie Pool and District 7 residents at this month's Rosedale Neighborhood Association meeting Monday night to talk about CodeNEXT. The neighborhood association announced Sunday evening that the talk had been postponed because of the weekend's inclement weather.

4. Austin Transportation Department hosts traffic calming meeting on Tuesday
Austin Transportation Department will meet Tuesday with residents of the Jester Estates neighborhood, as well as those living in nearby Lakewood, to discuss efforts to address the high level of speeding vehicles on Jester Boulevard. At the meeting, department officials will share strategies for ensuring safety on the road and ask for feedback from attendees. Residents of Jester Estates are strongly encouraged to attend in order to be a part of the process, according to the department.

5. Attend a CodeNEXT Land Use Commission public meeting
The Austin Planning Commission and the Zoning & Platting Commission will meet to discuss the proposed rewrite of Austin’s land development code, CodeNEXT, on Tuesday. Residents can attend the meeting at City Hall,

6. There’s a public hearing of Central Health’s fiscal year 2017-18 tax rate and budget
Residents can learn more about Central Health’s proposed fiscal year 2017-18 budget on Wednesday. The agency's board of managers will also review the proposed tax rate for the budget and hear comments or concerns.
Here are three numbers residents should know from the proposed budget.

7. Residents have until Thursday to provide feedback on the Pedestrian Safety Action Plan
The Pedestrian Safety Action Plan intends to provide a holistic strategy to reduce and eliminate crashes that kill and injure people who are walking. Residents can
take a look at the draft and provide feedback by 11:59 p.m. Thursday.

8. Austin City Council holds its budget public hearing this Thursday
