Central Health's board of managers will meet 5:30 p.m. Friday for a special meeting to discuss and likely take action on which of two finalists will become the agency's new top executive, according to an announcement this evening. Central Health announced March 28 that it had selected two finalists for its vacant CEO position: Mike Geeslin of Austin, who serves as executive director of the Texas Dental Association, and Vanetta Abdellatif of Portland, Oregon, who is executive director of integrated clinical services at the Multnomah County Health Department. Previous Central Health CEO Patricia Young Brown left the position at the end of 2016. Friday's meeting will include time for public comment, according to the meeting announcement. Central Health's board of managers meets at the agency’s office at 1111 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin. This week, Central Health held "meet the candidates" events for both Geeslin and Abdellatif. The agency streamed the events live on YouTube, and the videos of each are still available for viewing. Mike Geeslin:
