THURSDAY

1. Tax preparation help 

The nonprofit Foundation Communities is offering help with tax preparation for anyone who earns less than $55,000 annually. Help is offered at multiple locations in Austin and Round Rock.

2. The Arrival of the Year of the Fire Rooster

The event includes various performances of Asian dances, music, a martial arts demonstration, a lion dance, taiko drumming, calligraphy and the traditional Lunar New Year foods.

3. Clear Your Clutter Day 2017

The public may drop off one carload of items to be disposed of for free. Participating event partners include a paper-shredding company, a cardboard box collector, a junk-hauling company and nonprofit organizations that accept donations.

TUESDAY 

4. Youth Career Fest 

The city of Austin's Youth Council hosts a forum for Austin-area businesses and organizations to talk with high school students about career options and internships. Employers at this year’s event include LENOIR, Austin Public Library, Cancer Rehab Austin, Round Rock Express, Formula 1 Racing, WordPress Engine, Austin Municipal Court, Austin-Travis County EMS, The Iron Yard, Mexic-Arte Museum, Austin Opera, NASA's Texas Space Grant Consortium and the University of Texas College of Natural Sciences, according to the city.
