Loro announced its sixth location will open at Domain Northside this December.
What to know
From locally-collected antiques to artwork from Austin-based artists Landry McMeans and Gerardo Rodriguez, the location creates an atmosphere based on Texas dance halls, as stated in a news release. In addition to its interior dining space, the restaurant will offer additional seating at its outdoor patio space with a wrap-around bar, hanging swings and lounge seating.
The Austin-based Asian smokehouse and bar will open the doors of its second Austin location on Dec. 21 with 10 days of specials, including free Loro-branded Yeti cups for the first 100 guests on opening day.
On the menu
Chef Trevon Bland is the Chef de Cuisine at the new location which showcases a menu of tastes for a variety of palettes.
The menu consists of shareables, meats, sandwiches, rice bowls, salads, sides and sweets. Foodies can find a meal special on Sundays and Mondays after 4 p.m. with special item Smoked Baby Back Duroc Pork Ribs. A second meal special will be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after 4 p.m. which will highlight the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen.
Additionally, customers can pair their meals with a boozy slushee or cocktail with a range of flavors from Vietnamese Coffee to Lychee Martini.
The background
The original Loro location opened on South Lamar in 2018 and was founded by James Beard Award winners Chef Tyson Cole and Pitmaster Aaron Franklin. The restaurant focuses on grilled and smoked meats with a Southeast Asian and Japanese influence for its sauces and sides.
The restaurant belongs to the Hai Hospitality family which is known for its award-winning restaurants Uchi, Uchiko, Uchibā and Oheya.
