Austin baker Laura Galos opened the first brick-and-mortar spot for her Nordic-inspired bakery March 30 inside Austin-based Malone Specialty Coffee.
Galos said The Fika Table started as a cottage bakery in 2020 to fulfill her dream of owning a business utilizing her passions for baking and friendly gatherings.
What's on the menu
Drawing inspiration from her Finnish heritage, Galos creates specialty baked goods, such as her signature Swedish cardamom buns garnished with pearl sugar—which can also be purchased in a frozen four-pack.
Other treats include:
- Apple-cinnamon buns
- Finnish pulla bread
- Honey-lavender buns
- Salted chocolate-toffee cookies
- Seasonal options, such as Mardi Gras semlor—cardamom cream buns, Swedish apple-hazelnut cake and Lingonberry thumbprint cookies
In addition to visiting the physical spot, customers can preorder goods for Friday or Saturday pickups, order curbside or make special requests.
Other Austin-area places carrying The Fika Table's baked goods include Tiny Grocer, Vintage Bookstore & Wine Bar, West Pecan Coffee + Beer and more.
