Austin's Couch Potatoes, a locally-owned furniture factory and retailer, will be expanding its space in North Austin, opening a remodeled showroom and new manufacturing facility at the end of August, to be called Couch Potatoes Furniture and Mattress Factory.

Taking over what was previously the Furniture Mall of Texas—which will be permanently closed after Aug. 17—the 100,000-square-foot space will be transformed into a showroom with a unique glass wall, Owner Brian Morgan told Community Impact.

Morgan said the new facility will offer a “flagship experience,” bringing the factory operations directly to customers. Customers will be able to see first hand their furniture being "home grown."

Couch Potatoes also has two other locations in central and south Austin.
