New food truck Asado’s Taqueria specializes in Mission-style burritos.

Owner and Executive Chef Danny Blair said he fell in love with Mission-style taquerias during his time at college in the Bay Area, where he earned a degree in accounting and began his career as a certified public accountant.

“I liked that style of taqueria so much that I decided to quit my career in accounting to pursue starting my own taqueria,” Blair said.

Blair said he enrolled in culinary school and began working in restaurant kitchens. Eventually, he decided he was ready to open his own food truck, Asado's Taqueria.

Mission style, also referred to as San Diego style, is derived from the Mission District in that area and involves oversized tortillas stuffed with various ingredients, Blair said.

A popular menu item is the Super Burrito with steak, carnitas or chicken; pinto beans; pico de gallo; guacamole; sour cream; and Monterey Jack cheese. Other menu items include tacos and quesadillas along with chips, salsa and guacamole.
