Officials with the Capital Area Shelter Hub Plan have opened the first two shelters that will receive any evacuees from Hurricane Harvey.



The two shelters are located at the Delco Center, 4601 Pecan Brook Drive, Austin, and at LBJ High School, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive, Austin.

Should any new shelters be needed, locations will be announced through the city of Austin’s Twitter account. Residents can follow updates through the hashtag #ATXShelter.

Capital Area Shelter Hub Plan is a regional network of emergency shelters operated by the city of Austin and Hays, Travis and Williamson counties.

The American Red Cross seeks volunteers to help out at the shelters.
