With a margin of only eight votes, Lakeway's Proposition 1 was approved this evening by a count of 1,062 votes, or 50.19 percent, for the proposal and 1,054 votes, or 49.81 percent, against the proposal, with all votes counted. The $23 million bond proposal will fund a new police facility. "I am very excited and pleased as we move ahead with this facility," Lakeway Police Chief Todd Radford said. "We need to make sure we remain financially sound as [the police station project] moves forward." Incumbent Bridge Bertram was the frontrunner in the Lakeway City Council race, with 1,145 votes, or 34.86 percent of the vote, just edging out fellow incumbent Ron Massa with 1,134 votes, or 34.52 percent of the vote. Challenger Tiffany McMillan garnered 1,006 votes, or 30.62 percent of the vote. "I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to continue serving," Bertram said. "At the top of my list [for my upcoming term] is to continue to develop a small business transportation co-op to help small businesses be able to staff their organizations. Also, what will it take to get an economic development board as well for our city?" She said she was "extremely pleased" Proposition 1 passed to develop a new police station. "Our residents understand it is a needed facility to maintain the safety we've always been afforded as the city continues to grow," Bertram said. "I'm not surprised [at the slim margin the proposition passed with] because we got out the proposal so quickly. We've got to invest in our future and our residents. It's an investment." Proposition 2 also passed, with 1,597 votes, or 76.34 percent of the vote, for the proposal and 495 votes, or 23.66 percent of the vote, opposed. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

With election day results coming in, Proposition 1's early lead has remained steady with 831 cumulative votes, or 52.2 percent, for the proposal and 761 cumulative votes, or 47.8 percent, against the proposal. The city's incumbent council members have held a strong lead for the two open positions on the dais. Incumbent Bridge Bertram is the front runner to date, with 907 cumulative votes, or 35.84 percent of the total vote; incumbent Ron Massa has 906 cumulative votes, or 35.8 percent of the total vote; and challenger Tiffany McMillan has 718 cumulative votes, or 28.37 percent of the total vote. Proposition 2 continues to move forward with 1,214 cumulative votes, or 77.03 percent, approval to 362 cumulative votes, or 22.97 percent against the proposal.

With early voting results in, Lakeway's Proposition 1—a $23 million bond to fund a new city police station—shows a lead of 824 votes for, or 52.15 percent, and 756 votes, or 47.85 percent, against the proposal. City Council incumbents Bridge Bertram and Ron Massa are off to a strong start over challenger Tiffany McMillan with Massa garnering 903 votes, or 35.9 percent of the vote, and Bertram close behind with 901 votes, or 35.83 percent of the vote. McMillan has 711 votes, or 26.27 percent of the vote, in early voting totals. Lakeway's second proposition, the reauthorization of a local sales and use tax at the rate of one fourth of one percent to provide revenue for road maintenance and repair shows a strong lead in early voting totals, with 1,205 votes for, or 77.05 percent of the vote, and 359 votes against, or 22.95 percent.
