At its May 17 meeting, Colleyville City Council passed a resolution stating the city’s opposition to TEX Rail and permanently barring the city’s participation in the construction of any rail station within the city limits.

Mayor Richard Newtown and Mayor Pro Tem Chris Putnam requested the resolution be put on the agenda.

However, the resolution does not stop TEX Rail lines from passing through the city.

TEX Rail is a 27-mile commuter rail project being developed by the Fort Worth Transportation Authority. It will be the next passenger rail service in Tarrant County. It is expected to be operational in 2018.
