1. RR 12 improvements
Hays County and the Texas Department of Transportation have partnered on this project in San Marcos, which will add a center turn lane at various locations on RR 12 between Hwy. 80 and Saddleridge Drive. The road will also be reconstructed to include a four-lane divided parkway with two travel lanes in each direction in some areas. 2. Aquarena Springs Drive overpass
After temporary lane closures in the spring, the portion of Aquarena Springs Drive from Charles Austin Drive to near Thorpe Lane in San Marcos will maintain at least four vehicle lanes until construction is completed. When completed, the overpass will include two lanes in each direction as well as two-lane access roads on each side of the overpass. 3. Hwy. 123 overpass
TxDOT is working to build an overpass on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. The overpass is aimed at improving safety and mobility in that area. The contractor has started building the bridge foundation and retaining walls, as of early May. Timeline: March 2015-mid-2017 Cost: $11.6 million Funding sources: TxDOT
4. Goforth Road improvements
Construction on Goforth Road in Kyle began May 2. The project, being funded through the city’s 2013 road bond, will reconstruct the road to include three lanes in some areas and four lanes in others. Timeline: May 2016-spring 2017 Cost: $6.6 million Funding sources: city of Kyle
5. FM 967 widening
The contractor is fixing minor paving issues throughout the project, and TxDOT is awaiting environmental clearance to build a cul-de-sac. The portion of FM 967 from Cole Springs Road to FM 1626 in Buda has been widened to include two lanes, a center turn lane and sidewalks.
