First Street storm sewer improvements[/caption]
The First Street storm sewer project, which has accompanied construction of a new City Hall in downtown Katy, was completed Nov. 13. The sections of street between First and Second streets and between avenues D and C, is now open. The Katy City Council awarded the bid for the project April 13. Construction crews installed a large drainage pipe in an effort to improve storm drainage downtown.

2. Spring Green Boulevard roundabout
Construction crews will begin construction on a roundabout at the intersection of Crossover and Katy Flewellen roads in early 2016. The exits of the roundabout will be Cinco Trace Drive to the southwest, Katy Flewellen Road to the northeast and Spring Green Boulevard both to the northwest and southeast.

3. Morton Road expansion
The city of Katy will accept bids for the widening of Morton Road to four lanes in January. Phase 1 involves widening the road and constructing a sidewalk on its south side from Katy Hockley Cut Off Road to Avenue D.

Cost: $6.8 million

4. Cane Island Parkway, Hwy. 90 connection
The Katy City Council approved a resolution Nov. 19 for a partnership with Union Pacific Railroad to create an intersection connecting lanes at Hwy. 90. The Texas Department of Transportation project will be funded by the city of Katy.
