Each high school in Cy-Fair ISD has a rich and unique legend or tradition that sets them apart from each other.

Cy-Fair High School - Bobcats

During the 1972 football season, quarterback Kenny Pridgeon was injured, and more than half the football team came down with meningitis. Head Coach Tommy Ward promoted 30 subvarsity players and coined “Bobcat Fight Never Dies” to remind his team to never give up.

Jersey Village High School - Falcons

The Jersey Village High School community refers to itself as the Falcon Family. “No matter how long you’ve been at Jersey Village, you’re a part of the Falcon Family,” Principal Ralph Funk said.

Cypress Creek High School - Cougars

“Lighting of the CCs” is an annual canned food drive that highlights sports teams and extracurricular groups. The event’s finale features the lighting of candles and electric lights to spell out the homecoming theme.

Langham Creek High School - Lobos

The school is located in an area formerly known as Wolf Corner. The locale was once known to have wild wolves roaming around the area. They are known as the “Pride of Langham Creek” and the Lobo Pack.

Cypress Falls High School - Eagles

The winner of the annual Cypress Falls High School homecoming raffle is allowed to throw a pie in the face of the teacher of their choice.

Cypress Springs High School - Panthers

“Panther Pride” is a rally cry used by students. It comes from part of the school’s Alma Mater—“This is our cry ‘Cy-Springs High School we love you!’ Stand side-by-side, panther pride.”

Cypress Ridge High School - Rams

The Cypress Ridge High School motto is “Rams in the house…bad news,” which was coined during the Rams’ first football season. The team was expected to finish last in the league that year but surprised everyone by becoming district champions.

Cypress Woods High School - Wildcats

Cypress Woods High School uses the “212 degree spirit” as a call to action. Water does not boil until it reaches 212 degrees, so football coach David Jones emphasized that it only takes one degree of extra effort to separate good from great.

Cypress Lakes High School - Spartans

The Cypress Lakes High School mascot is the Spartan. The school opened up during the 2008-09 school year, two years after the movie “300” was released. Its motto or call to action is “This is Sparta.”

Cypress Ranch High School - Mustangs

“Mustangs Win Tonight” is a post-game chant used by students. Abbreviated as M.W.T., the rally cry is based on the premise that you must expect to win before you can even have a chance to win.
