Omar Pena won re-election to Pflugerville City Council Place 3, according to unofficial results, with 80.57 percent of the vote, or 2,779 votes. Challenger Phil Osars Emia received 19.43 percent of the vote, or 670 votes.

"I thank the citizens for their confidence in me and am delighted they have entrusted me to serve another three years on City Council," Pena said.

Mike Heath won City Council Place 5 seat with 50.59 percent of the vote, or 1,879 votes. Rudy Metayer received 49.41 percent of the vote, or 1,835 votes.

"I feel really fortunate and look forward to the opportunity to serve my community," Heath said. "Rudy ran an exceptional campaign, and I look forward to working with city council members moving forward."

Pflugerville voters had the opportunity to vote for who would fill the Place 3 and Place 5 City Council seats.

Place 3

According to Nov. 3 unofficial early voting results, incumbent Omar Pena is leading challenger Phil Osars Emia with 80.6 percent of the vote, or 1,093 votes. Emia has 19.4 percent of the vote, or 263 votes.

Pena, who works in sales and technology, ran a campaign emphasizing property tax relief, economic growth and job creation. Emia, a businessman, emphasized improving relations between police and members of the community.

"Whatever the results wind up being, I want to thank Emia on a wonderful race and thank the citizens of Pflugerville," Pena said. "I hope I will be serving them for another three years at the end of the night."

Place 5

Unofficial early voting results show that Mike Heath leads Rudy Metayer with 55.06 percent of the vote, or 794 votes. Metayer has 44.94 percent of the vote, or 648 votes.

Both Heath and Metayer emphasized economic growth, development and public safety in their campaigns. Heath, an engineer, also emphasized improving infrastructure and city services. Metayer, an attorney, emphasized improving transportation and mobility.

"I look forward to seeing what the results are at the end of the night," Heath said. "We'll let all the votes be counted and see how it turns out."

Incumbent Victor Gonzales is not running.

Pflugerville City Council members serve three-year terms with a limit of three terms and serve without compensation. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
