As the wildfire known as the Hidden Pines Fire continues to burn thousands of acres in Bastrop County, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse is issuing a call for help.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster in Bastrop County Oct. 15, which will allow the state to take further efforts toward gathering resources to assist the impacted communities. The fire had consumed more than 4,200 acres and was 15 percent contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse is looking to provide assistance to the residents and animals in the area affected by the fires. The group is requesting hay, feed and buckets for the animals, which can be dropped off at the Posse Arena.

The group is also requesting donations for water, towels and pre-packaged snack foods for residents. Those items can be dropped off at the Central Texas Harley Davidson in Round Rock.
