Travis Fitch, general manager of Point Security in Hutto, said he launched his business in 2007 with the goal of offering the best home and commercial security solutions for the best price available.
“The technology is great, and very few companies offer the packages we offer,” Travis said. “We make it affordable to anyone. We want to make it easy to get this installed for a customer.”
Travis and his brothers, Todd and Brian, had a background working in sales at various alarm system companies and eventually decided to start their own company. Travis said Point Security gained popularity through radio marketing.
Point Security offers a variety of alarm packages, including the ability to view surveillance cameras from smartphones, as well control the temperature in the home. Homes and businesses with Point Security systems are monitored 24/7, Travis said.
Point Security primarily works with residences and gets most of its business based on customer referrals. Travis said the most rewarding part of what he does is when customers write a positive review or email about their new services.
“That’s important to us; we want our customers to experience great service,” Travis said. “We are all consumers; we’ve all had good service experiences, and we’ve all had bad. If a customer has a negative experience with us we will fix it immediately.”
Travis said the company has experienced exponential growth in recent years, and although it plans to continue expanding throughout Texas, Point Security focuses on growing at a rate that will allow it to sustain customer care.
Point Security is proud of its “give back” program, Travis said. Each time the company installs an alarm system, the company donates a portion of the proceeds to a charity of the customer’s choice. Travis said Point Security began doing this after being introduced to a charity it supports, Texas CASA, a few years ago. Travis said if a customer does not have a particular charity to which he or she wishes to donate, Point Security will donate to Texas CASA.
“If I had a voice, I would love to see more companies do the same thing,” Travis said. “It would change the world.”
