The project also includes reconfiguration of ramps on the north side of the DNT/President George Bush Turnpike interchange. Access between Parker Road and Windhaven Parkway will be improved and new entrance ramps north of Windhaven Parkway will be added. Timeline: May 2015-early 2018 Cost: $260 million Funding sources: North Texas Transit Authority Preston Road-Spring Creek Parkway improvements Lane closures will take place as widening projects along Preston Road at the Spring Creek Parkway and Parker Road intersections continue. When complete, the intersections will feature double left-hand turn lanes on the northbound and southbound sides of Preston Road. Work to add double left-hand turn lanes on the eastbound side of Spring Creek Parkway is also expected to begin soon. Timeline: September 2013-December 2015 Cost: $4.6 million Funding sources: city of Plano, North Central Texas Council of Governments 15th Street construction Traffic has been shifted to the south side of the right of way and paving operations have begun on the northern new lanes of 15th Street in this infrastructure replacement and relocation project. Crews are installing root barriers and subgrade stone. Work is also continuing on the installation of new storm drain line west of US 75.
