Greg Rodriguez, San Marcos CISD assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, accepted the position of deputy superintendent with Huntsville ISD on Aug. 25.
Rodriguez came to SMCISD in 2011 from Texas State University where he served as grant coordinator. In that role he managed a multimillion dollar grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. Rodriguez also has experience teaching English and Spanish.
In his position as assistant superintendent for SMCISD, Rodriguez helped develop curriculum for the district's nine schools.
The SMCISD board of trustees approved Rodriguez as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction on Dec. 14. He took over for Howell Wright who also left the district in 2014 for a job with Hunstville ISD.
