McKinney Classic Film Festival debuts next month in historic downtown with a courtroom-themed lineup that includes some of Hollywood's all-time favorite courtroom classics such as "To Kill a Mockingbird," "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and "12 Angry Men."
The films will be screened Sept. 11-13 at the McKinney Performing Arts Center as part of its inaugural McKinney Classic Film Festival. The center's Courtroom Theater will bring a unique ambiance to the courtroom-themed films, according to a news release.
Mary Badham, who played Scout in the 1962 film, "To Kill a Mockingbird" will walk the red carpet and attend a special meet and greet for VIP ticket holders before appearing for an onstage interview and screening of the film.
Ticket holders can walk the red carpet and are encouraged to dress in their finest Hollywood attire. Patrons can also bring their own cameras or purchase a photo at the event and are invited to a closing party for the Classic Film Festival at 4 p.m. Sept. 13 with the Big Band music of the McKinney Community Band.
