The PCDC aims to support Pflugerville businesses as well as promote the city as a desirable place for new businesses to operate, according to a corporation statement. “I am honored to step into this role as the PCDC transitions into new leadership,” Madison said in a statement. “I look forward to working closely with the board in this new capacity.” Madison joined the PCDC in 2014 and previously served as the economic development executive director for the San Marcos Chamber and CEO of the Greater San Marcos Partnership, a public-private partnership promoting economic development in Hays and Caldwell counties. “While we are sad to see Floyd Akers go, we are confident Amy Madison has the experience and passion to take the PCDC to the next level,” said Doug Weiss, president of the Pflugerville Community Development Corp. board of directors, in a statement. The PCDC board of directors plans to name a permanent executive director by October, according to the corporation.
